Stewards of God’s Mysteries – the Magical Mystery Tour
In Paul’s 1st letter to the church in Corinth, Paul writes: “Think of us in this way, as servants of Christ and stewards of God’s mysteries. Moreover, it is required of stewards that they be found trustworthy.”
During the first 4 weeks of May we will be “unpacking” this powerful piece of scripture as the St. Philip community. Blessings are bountiful and opportunities are many. As we intentionally consider our call from God to be stewards, you are asked to listen, to pray, and to share. Our Magical Mystery Tour will culminate with an opportunity to ask God’s blessing upon the generosity of St. Philip on Consecration Sunday, May 22nd at both worship services.
On Consecration Sunday, we will complete pledge cards as a part of the worship service, as we have done in recent years. Making a financial commitment to the ministries of St Philip is a personal act of faith,
not an effort to support a budget. Please prayerfully consider your response to the gifts God has first given you as we proceed on the Magical Mystery Tour.
For those that need a road map before embarking on any tour:
May 1 – Servants of Christ: What is a servant?
May 8 – Stewards: What is a steward?
May 15 – God’s mysteries: Whose are they?
May 22 – Trustworthy: It’s all about relationship.
